Upper Back and Neck Pain Therapy Program in Bacolod

11Shares

Online workers are the most at risk for neck pains due to keeping a prolonged sitting position. Lack of mobility and exercise strain the neck muscles and cause migraines or tension headaches as well as other health problems. I discovered a Neck Pain Therapy Program in Bacolod City offered at PAPerez Physio – Rehab & Pain Management Clinic. It has worked wonders on my stiff neck and store muscles!

Relieve and eventually heal stiff neck and store muscles with proper Upper Back and Neck Pain Therapy Program in Bacolod. Here, PT Adnan is “gunning” my shoulder as I perform some simple stretches.

Neck Strain, Stiff Neck, and Limited Neck Movements

For the longest time that I can remember, my shoulders, shoulder blades, and neck are stiff and sore. There are times when I wake up with a stiff neck and it would almost immediately result to a really bad headache that won’t go away without taking painkillers.

Sometimes, when it’s not so severe, I would apply a mixture of pain oils from Young Living Essential Oils so that I can have some relief. When the oils work, at least, I don’t have to take pills and overwork my kidneys and liver.

Chiropractic Therapy in Bacolod

I have gone through about three chiropractic therapy sessions with Johnny Dubouzet here in Bacolod City. Every time I receive therapy, the flexibility of my joints improve.

My neck pains also do not last long. But the stiff muscles are still there. Anybody who touches my neck, shoulder blades, and back, which include spa masseuses and my husband, would complain at how tensed and stressed my muscles are. Massage and oils give relief but the tension and spasms would be back.

And the worse would be waking up with a headache due to stiff neck pain that can last the whole day. It affects my mood and work and even my relationship with the kids. It really makes me cranky when I am in pain.

Effective Neck Pain Therapy Program in Bacolod

With the chronic pain on my lower back and sciatica, I sought out the services of PAPerez Physio – Rehab & Pain Management Clinic. The initial treatment was for my lower back area, which will also treat my sciatica. But after my first session, I went home with a really bad case of migraine because my neck was stiff when I woke up that morning.

When I went back for my second session, I extended my time so that two areas would be covered – my upper and lower back.

The treatment lasts for an hour and involves four parts.

Four-Part Treatment Process

So this is what I went through for my stiff neck pain management that also covered my upper back and shoulders. Some pain, soreness, and discomfort may be felt but all are tolerable. Just think that it’s all for making your muscles heal and recover.

Part 1 – Scraping

It involves scraping a metal device on the skin to determine the tight spots in the muscles. The therapist will press the metal onto the skin and see the areas that turn darker than the rest. It is a manual process.

Part 2 – Dynamic Cupping

Using a silicone cup, the therapist uses suction force to loosen knotted muscles. This feels good, like a deep tissue massage.

Part 3 – Static Cupping

The static cups follow. The number of cups used depend on the number of affected areas. My neck and lower back required 23 cups in all.

Much like the homeopathic remedy called Moxa Ventosa, the cupping involves cups that apply pulling pressure on muscles. However, it does not require the use of fire.

This is the part of the therapy that will leave pepperoni like marks where the cup was placed. But it’s okay, the marks will fade after about five days and will not leave scars. It just scared the heck out of my kids and niece. hahaha

Part 4 – Stretching Exercises

Since the muscles are tight, they need to be stretched. Exercises will be done while the cups are still in place and after they were removed.

After Care Suggestions

Here are some after-care steps you should do after a stiff neck pain management session. While they did not really specify it, these are my personal suggestions for faster healing. These will also amplify the effects of your therapy.

Cover Yourself

I suggest that you wear a scarf or jacket when going out of the clinic after the treatment. It feels cold, actually, and it’s rather uncomfortable when the wind blows or when the aircon is cold.

Sleep

I also suggest going home right after the therapy and taking a nap. There’s nothing like sleep to enable the body to recover and recuperate.

These circular areas felt bruised. If others are willing to undergo “tiis-ganda“, I, on the other hand, will endure the discomfort and unsightly marks of cupping in order for my pains to be healed.

If deep sleep is not possible, lie down to rest at least. Do not get into strenuous work within the day.

Hot Bath

This is assuming that you receive treatment during the day, you can take a bath at night. There is no restriction, unlike when you go to a hilot. However, I suggest using hot water and rinsing yourself in tap. The hot water will further calm and soothe your muscles. You may add relaxing oils like lavender into your bath water.

Meanwhile, the coldness of the water will close the pores.

Vitamin Supplements

If a multi vitamin supplement is not part of your health arsenal, I suggest you start adding some. I would specifically recommend a Vitamin B supplement for nerve health as well as Vitamin C to promote healing.

Seek Help

Are you suffering from neck pain? Seek out the stiff neck pain therapy program at PAPerez Physio – Rehab & Pain Management Clinic. Enduring muscle stress and tension like I did can lead to more physical problems that is taking too long and too expensive to heal.

A mom’s happiness is integral to the family’s happy life. We can’t be exactly happy if we are waking up to pains, right? I know, because I have been there. Plus, mobility is such a problem. So if you are experiencing these pains, seek treatment already.

  1. Haaay I’ve always wanted to treat myself to something like this. When I got pregnant, I started having flexibility issues that didn’t go away after birth. Now I can’t lift my right arm as high as I used to. It’s even painful whenever I try to scratch my back.

How much is it per session, Ms? Will definitely take time to try this. 🙂

The pepperoni marks look scary though.

    1. Did you have a C-Section? My problem probably arose from two C-Sections. My core muscles, without exercise, just gave away.

As for the upper back and neck pains, I think the muscles are connected.

The therapy fees depend on your case. I got a package of 6 sessions because of my condition. But if it’s a single session, like for body tuning, it’s P799 or something. It’s cheaper than the physical therapy in the hospital actually.

Don’t worry about the pepperoni marks from cupping. They fade after a few days. 🙂

      1. The scraping and cupping part are interesting!? I remember my mama would make me do this cupping to her when we were still in San Carlos. We used 25 cents coins wrapped in cloth then lit them before covering with glasses. Glad to know there’s a modern way of doing this now.

  2. When I started to work from home (4 months now), I have started to feel major backpains. My mom adviced me to have a massage but the relief only for a week and after that, it came back again. ?

I should search this in Cebe, if wala, i think i should visit Bacolod then. ?

  3. Yes, online workers are really prone to back and neck pain due to sitting for long periods. This is definitely something should be addressed immediately in case one starts experiencing this.

Going through a pain therapy program is one of the best options. Glad you found one near your area as experts in this field are very few. Happy to know that your NSAID pill-popping days are finally over.

You may also want to do a little more stretching and start using ergonomic chairs, tables, and computer accessories. 🙂
