Testing the Mofit Powerbank for Our Traveling Lifestyle

17Shares

Our family’s traveling lifestyle takes us to many places all day. Many times, we need to stay online and even a fully charged phone could not sustain a whole day activity. We go to test the 20,000 mah Mofit Powerbank and it’s a wonderful travel companion.

Travelling is Our Family Lifestyle

We have made a decision to make traveling in any form as a family lifestyle. It is part of our self-declared homeschooling curriculum to expose our children outside the home in order to learn more. Among the things they learn are different flavors and aromas, cultures, language, faith, and most of all, manners and values.

Recently, we just came home from an eight-day sojourn up north, as we tried the Cebu Pacific flights from Bacolod to Clark. It was a great experience for the kids that covered one whole school week and two weekends.

When we were planning to homeschool our eldest, not too many people happy about. We encountered a lot of discouragement. I written about it here—Homeschooling: Handling Negative Opinion.

Flexibility to Travel

Years later, people not only respect our choice but are actually admiring how our kids are turning out. Plus, they are realizing that homeschooling gives us the flexibility to travel as a family all year round. We can take advantage of promo fares and off-peak rates because we can choose our dates based on them.

Most of our family travels are chronicled in this blog, including the family-friendly hotels we have stayed in the Philippines. Some are on our Facebook accounts while others on Instagram. There are places where the kids are inspired to film their vlogs and so they would ask us to take video footage as we go along. You may follow their Youtube vlog: @sistersactkidscantell

How the Mofit Powerbank Fits Our Traveling Lifestyle

Mommy blogger or not, I like taking photos of our children to capture our memories. Looking back at the memories through photographs makes Mama happy.

Additionally, the girls are so adorable and can make cute poses. They look good on any outfit, too. Thankfully, they are not like me who doesn’t seem to possess a graceful bone in my body. Add to that their penchant for making videos, we really need to have our gadgets full of power when we travel or just simply go out to the nearby Bacolod Capitol Lagoon Park.

From morning till night, visiting theme parks, museums, local restaurants, and outdoor activity centers for kids are all part of our itinerary.

So we really need backup power in order to charge our mobile phones and mirrorless camera.

How Mofit Powerbank 20000 mah Performs

Being the strongest and the only male in our entourage, our Papa is usually carrying most of our stuff. This includes our gadgets, wires, tripod, and powerbank.

He was the first one to use the Mofit Powerbank 20000 mah and he says it “is a power house. We need this while travelling to a place where we might not find an outlet to plug in our gadget the whole day.”

Below, I am making way for hubby’s review of the Mofit Powerbank 20000 mAh.

Hubby’s Review of the Mofit 20000 mAh

I plugged the Mofit Powerbank into my Huawei P20 phone, which has a 3400mAh. Ideally, 20000 mAh can charge a P20 from zero to full charge, 5 to almost 6 times. But there are many factors that can reduce that frequency. However, if my phone is not fully drained, I can still charge it more than 5 times.

And based on my testing that is rightfully so.

Digital Display

The Mofit Powerbank has a digital display that shows the status of this accessory and its “activity”. First off, it shows the percentage of its charge (power load).

Unboxing our unit, we saw that the Mofit powerbank was at 100% capacity, so we didn’t have to charge it anymore. Other powerbanks only have indicators, but the Mofit’s display shows how much percentage of power is still in storage. That means that the Mofit has a more accurate display.

I was not able to carefully observe the gadget at work on my first use. All I remember was that my P20 was at around 25% power. After fully charging it, the powerbank’s storage went down to 84%. That means approximately 16% was drained to fully charge the P20.

More Observations on the Indicator Display

On my second charging of my Huawei P20, I was able to record more details. I started when my P20 was at 21% while the Mofit Powerbank 20000 mAh was at 84%. After 2hours and 20 minutes, my P20 was already fully charged (the full charge time is not accurate because I didn’t notice it immediately).

The Mofit’s storage meter now showed 66%, which means about 18% of stored power was used. I think it is safe to say that I can use this powerbank about six times on my P20.

Another indicator on the display is the port that you have plugged into–whether you plugged it into the 1.0A port or the 2.1A port. If your phone and cable is capable of fast charging, you must plug the cable into the 2.1A port. Since I could not find any labels on the port, I relied on the display. Once you know which one is the fast charging port, you may try to take note of it. Or maybe put your own label or marker.

In and Out

The Mofit display can also indicate whether you are charging the powerbank or charging from the powerbank, which means, as follows:

~ The OUT is lighted, which means I am charging my phone. ~
  • OUT means you are charging your phone from the powerbank.
  • IN means you are charging the powerbank.

Powerbank Ports

There are 4 ports on the Mofit Powerbank, as follows:

  • 2 for output — where you plug into when charging your phone. Or you can also charge 2 phones at the same time.
  • 2 input ports – these are for two types of charging cable — micro usb cable and type C cable. However, you should use only one input port when charging.

How Long Does It Take to Charge the 20000 mAh

We are yet to observe how long to fully charge the Mofit powerbank 20000 mAh. It’s still at 66% now, but charging time will also depend on the charger and the cable. But at 20k mAh, estimate would be 8 hours to more.

Note: Since this has a Lithium-Polymer Battery, there’s no need to wait for the powerbank to be fully drained before you can charge it again. Best battery care is not to allow it to fully drain and not over charge it. The percentage display helps you with that, too.
