It’s our second summer in this pandemic and once again, we are all advised to stay at home to prevent the spread of Covid-19. It’s for our own safety, as the numbers have skyrocketed. With the rising temperatures around us, let us stay cool by wearing organic cotton apparel and by following some of these simple tips.
Tips to Stay Cool and Healthy This Summer
Here are some of the things that I can share with you in order to stay cool and healthy this summer.
- 1. Reduce intake of meat or fatty food. These increase your body heat.
- 2. Hydrate. I cannot stress enough the importance of hydration. Drink at least 8 glasses of water and more if you exercise or run errands outside.
- 3. Stay indoors when the sun is high up. If you can, stay indoors between 10am to 3pm. Bring an umbrella is you need to walk out in the sun and remember to bring a water bottle so that you can drink as needed.
- 4. Wear cool clothes to let out the body heat. Invest in organic cotton apparel because these are made of natural fibers.
- 5. Use plants as shade. If there are areas in the house that allow the sun’s rays directly inside, cover them with plants. They look good and give shade. Plus, gardening is a good hobby to take on — having plants around feeds the mind and the soul.
