Shane has lost two of her milk teeth already. The manner by which she lost them was quite funny. For her third tooth, we scheduled a visit to our Bacolod dentist. That would have been officially her first tooth extraction by a dentist. But it became a funny story of an EPIC FAIL.

Baby Memories: First Tooth Extraction
For many parents, their baby’s teeth are part of their keepsakes. These are usually placed in little glass bottles or in a special baby teeth case with proper places.

In our cases, we only have a few left of our children’s teeth. For Achi Shawna, we don’t remember bringing her to the dentist for teeth extractions. She removes them herself and she also lost some of her teeth, like dropping one at a restaurant and under the bed.
So we usually have our bi-annual dental visits so that they can have dental cleaning or tooth filling (as needed). Moreover, she had her trainers installed by them. Read more: Pre-Orthodontic Trainer for Kids Aligned my Child’s Permanent Teeth. It was good investment.
For our younger daughter, Shane, it’s not much different.
Shane’s Story
After celebrating her 6th birthday, Shane already started losing her first tooth. But we didn’t get to keep it because one day, she just announced, “I swallowed by tooth!” And that was it.
For the second one, we were able to collect it after she said that it fell off. It now sits in a little glass bottle on our shelf.
The third one was quite stubborn. I knew that Shane kept “massaging” the loose tooth but it was already hurting. So we scheduled a visit to our family dentist. The only available schedule was the following day, 2pm.
The Dental Appointment
When Tuesday came, we had lunch as usual and Shane complained that her tooth was “owwwiiee.” Encouraged her to avoid the bad tooth, we had about an hour left till our appointment.

At around 1:10pm, Shane suddenly announced again, “Mom! I swallowed my tooth!” There was still food in her mouth so I asked her to spit it out. No tooth. haha
So again, she swallowed her tooth! Out of the three teeth that fell out, she swallowed TWO! Her tooth must have been scared of our dentist’s appointment that it hid in her tummy! Shane, you are a classic! And there goes her first tooth extraction!

Tooth Fairy
Thankfully, the kids don’t believe in the tooth fairy. Otherwise, we would all be in trouble! haha
But we did get soft ice cream. One of my fondest memories with my paternal grandfather is getting ice cream after tooth extraction. This was during the 80s so an ice cream treat was a super treat already. I didn’t want the kids to miss that.
