Families now stay at home most of the time because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Our movement is limited that even classes are held online or modular. Some families are blessed with nice big yards and safe neighborhoods. But what if you don’t have them? It’s nice to invest in a trampoline so that the kids (and parents) can play and exercise on it. To make the activity more fun, here are some of the best trampoline games and toys you can play with your kids.
Discover the Best Trampoline Games Your Kids Can do
As a parent, we make sure that our kids get to experience outdoor play because it is an important part of their growth. It’s not something absolutely necessary, but children should at least perform some level of physical activity. Plus they should get a certain amount of sunlight daily to grow strong and healthy.
Understanding the options you can go for when it comes to outdoor activities is an important part of the process. You can’t expect your children to have fun when you just tell them “go play outside” while they only have a ball.
Moreover, choices are limited now because we have to warn them about physical distancing due to Covid-19.
What Do Your Kids Like?
It is our responsibility as parents to explore and discover what our kids like. There’s something that a lot of children love regardless of anything, and that is motion and new environment.
For example, a child finds the pool and the beach to be so much fun and exciting. It is the same for slides, swings, and other playground alternatives.
One of the ways to replicate the experience of being outside, getting some sun, and having fun while being surrounded by nature is by getting a trampoline.
Moreover, enjoying trampoline games is a very exciting and safe alternative.
But as a beginner on the trampoline, you might have your worries, so in this article, I’m going to provide useful information about trampolines.
I will also showcase what are the options you can go for while talking about their cons and pros.
If Safety is Your Concern
There’s something we want to cover before we talk about actual trampoline toys, and that is safety measures. As a parent, I’m sure that your biggest concern related to trampolines is safety.
Regardless of the type of trampoline toy, whether for kids or not, please understand that accidents may happen no matter how careful you are. However, reducing the risks of accidents and putting safety measures to prevent damages is an important part of owning a trampoline.
Safety Tips on the Trampoline
So, depending on how big your children are, you might want to put some rules on the table. Some good examples include:
- Depending on the size of the playground, don’t allow more than 3 kids to play at the same time. Even if the playground is big enough for two kids, make sure that they have a safe distance from each other. Make it a rule not get them too close to each other.
- Forbid trying complicated tricks or things they’ve seen on the internet. Many times, this is the main cause of trampoline-related accidents.
- Don’t let them play without the supervision of a responsible person, just in case. This will avoid the second rule from being broken!
Other things you can do are included in this article over here in case you are interested in more safety measures.
Talking About Trampolines
There are many types of trampolines and they vary based on their size and shape. You can find circular, oval, square, and octagonal shaped trampolines in the market. The sizes can vary from individual to small, medium, big, and family-sized.
Deciding which one is the best option for you can be difficult since it depends entirely on your own circumstances. Foremost of all is the family budget–so it depends on what you can afford.
What I can do is provide information about the models you can find so you can decide for yourself.
Size of the Trampoline
For example, an individual or small-sized trampoline can be a good option for single kids who are still very small. Meanwhile, a medium, big, or family-sized trampoline is better when you have more than one child. Plus, teenagers and adults can use it, too.
Shape of the Trampoline
The shape of the trampoline doesn’t really matter since it is just about preference. But do consider that there are standard models, in-ground models, and cage or net models.
Standard models are better used along with safety fall mats to prevent damage in case of accidents. In-ground models can be cheaper than standard versions and prevent most of the fall damage. Meanwhile, the cage or net models provide an extra layer of protection.
The Safest Model
Overall, I would recommend going for the cage models, but if you don’t have the budget or the space, you can always go for the in-ground or standard model.
The in-ground model might require more complicated installation though, so take that into consideration! Trampolines are not only good for exercise and play but also great for resting too! Check out blogs here: Sleeping on the Trampoline
Best Trampoline Games and Toys
Now, do the kids just jump on the trampoline for exercise? Of course, they enjoy exhibitions and stunts there. Plus, they also enjoy playing with toys.
So what can you add to make rebounding more fun and exciting?
Put soft toys, balloons, and balls. These are sure-fire items to add excitement, especially for toddlers.
In case your kids end up getting tired of just jumping around, they can just very well sit there, play with their toys, read some books, or even doze off for an hour or two!
