Christmas is happening soon and it’s that time of the year again for the SM Bears of Joy 2019. For this season, there are four designs to choose from. Find out more about them.
SM Bears of Joy 2019
Each year, our daughters would get SM Bears of Joy. They know the purpose of this campaign, which also serves as a lesson in giving for them. When we buy the bears, they would personally write their notes to whoever gets to receive the bear from them.
We have been doing this for several now that we have collected quite a number of bears. So what to we do with these stuffed toys? We use them to decorate our Christmas tree! We love the different colored bears and how cute our tree looks.
A couple of years ago, we were event able to join the bear giving event at the Kalipay Foundation. They were the beneficiaries of SM City Bacolod last time.
As a homeschooling family, we believe that teaching kids about kindness is a very important part of life. This is just one way for us to reinforce the value of sharing so that they will grow up thinking about others.
Four Designs to Choose From
This year, there are four bears to choose from. The bears are all colored brown, but they come in different outfits so that they could also become toys for boys and girls.
Here’s the list of the SM Bears of Joy 2019 designs:
- Ballerina Bear
- Pilot Bear
- Firefighter Bear
- Cheerleader Bear
Our girls, of course, chose the ballerina bear (purple) and the cheerleader bear (red). Since we were attending a little boy’s birthday party when we went to SM City Bacolod, we also got a pilot bear (blue) in the name of the birthday boy. I think it’s a thoughtful birthday gift.
Mechanics of the SM Bears of Joy
For only P200, you get to buy a pair of bears. You have to donate one and then you have the option to keep one. The bear to give away comes with a note card so that you can write your message to whoever will receive it. Or you can just sign your name.
Both kids and grownups alike are encouraged to take part in this CSR campaign by SM Cares.
About the SM Bears of Joy Campaign
The SM Bears of Joy campaign is a joint project of SM cares and Toy Kingdom. This is in partnership with alll the SM Supermalls around the Philippines. It is an annual charity project that allows shoppers at SM malls to share the joys of Christmas through bear giving.
All the bears collected go to that SM mall’s chosen beneficiaries for the year. These beneficiaries range from orphanages, child community centers, or non-government organizations (NGOs).
The SM Bears of Joy are available until December 25, 2019 at the Toy Kingdom designated booths. In Bacolod City, it’s located at the north wing atrium, near Vikings Buffet Restaurant.
