Going to Iloilo City has been a regular family trip for us. This time, we all stayed in a Seda Atria Premier Room and it was a great experience for us.

Staying in a Seda Atria Premier Room

Since we live in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, Iloilo City is our nearest neighboring island.

This time we checked in at Seda Atria because it was near the venue of my event. And honestly, this is our first time to stay in a premier room in a Seda hotel.

Seda Atria Location

The new Seda Atria Hotel in Iloilo stands tall and proud at the Atria. It is right in front of the the Donato Pison Monument at the Pison Rotunda.

Right smack in the middle of new developments in Iloilo City, Seda Atria is a strategic hotel to stay in for businessmen.

Seda Atria Premier Room

As a homeschooling family, the four of us usually travel together. We are blessed with opportunities to go around the country and stay in family-friendly hotels.

This month, we had to go to Iloilo City for the Educators’ Conference (EDCON2019) for Homeschooling Supervisors. It’s an event organized by the Philippine School of Tomorrow as completion to DepEd requirements to enrol in the next level.

While there, we got to stay at Seda Atria Iloilo, which is just near the conference venue. And we had the privilege of staying in a Seda Atria Premier Room. We just so love how big it is!

The Seda Atria Premier Room is a spacious 35-sq meter room with a king-sized bed. It has floor to ceiling windows that give us a nice view of the developments around us. At night, it is nice to look out and see the bustling city lights.

Meanwhile, it has a living room area with sofas and a center table as well as an executive’s desk. The toilet and bath is pretty big, too.

Getting an Extra Bed

And the best part is, there is ample space for an extra bed. We realized that our eldest Shawna has quite grown lately. A more comfortable set up for us now would be a king-sized bed for Papa, Mama, and Shane. Achi Shawna gets a single bed of her own.

~ This is us in a 25-sq.m. standard room — a standard size in Seda Hotels in the Philippines. We are outgrowing this setup and there’s no space for an extra bed. ~

Now in the Seda Atria Premier Room, we all could sleep nicely.

But we realized that in a year or two, our travel dynamics will change because the kids are growing fast!

This room can accommodate a maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children below 12 years old. Please note that the third adult has corresponding charges.

Food

We were not able to sample their ala carte menu because we kept going out to meet friends. So we cannot comment on their food. Aside from Misto, their in-house cafe, Seda Atria is surrounded by homegrown Iloilo restaurants. It’s easy to have a food trip around here.

While at the hotel, you might want to check out their Straight Up Bar at the roof deck. It is very nice to relax here at the end of the day. We tucked the kids in for the night and snuck out to enjoy a quiet moment. Hubby and I need that.

Breakfast Buffet

Their breakfast buffet has pretty complete food stations, including an omelet station. The bacon plate is constantly being refilled.

Meanwhile, the omelet station is what’s missing from Seda Capitol Central in Bacolod.

~ Our kids really enjoy ordering from the omelet station. It gives them the liberty to choose what they want to put in their eggs. ~

What the kids really like is that they serve whole fruits! They especially love crunching on green apples and slicing the oranges.

Family meal times are important for us. But at home, we don’t usually eat breakfast together. That is why during travels, we enjoy the hotel’s breakfast buffet.

Oh, I want to note that our Achi Shawna no longer gets free breakfast because of her age. We already have to pay 50% for her breakfast. That is why our travel dynamics are going to change soon.

Side Trips in Iloilo

While staying at Seda Atria, we set aside a day so that we can visit one Iloilo tourist attraction. We do that for every city that we visit, even if we go there on official business.

For this trip, we went on a side trip to the Denila Grapes Farms in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo. It’s about a 30-minute taxi ride from Seda Atria and costs around P350. The kids enjoyed picking grapes and also feeding the pigeons there. Entrance is only P30 and the grapes we picked cost P130 per kilo. It was a nice and affordable outdoor outing for the kids.

After our field trip at the Denila Grapes Farm, we sought the Batchoyan ni Jasmin nearby. They had one of the best bowls of batchoy that we have ever tried!

Seda Atria Room Rates

Despite the modern amenities in this Iloilo hotel, as well as its strategic location, the prices are actually quite reasonable. And if there’s promo, you could get it really cheap! Check the table below just to give you an idea.
