Young and old alike, Filipinos love to sing. Whether a person is in tune or not, singing makes us feel good and adds to good vibes. While there is singing on stage during live performances, much more singing happens at home while in the company of our tiny bubble. WOW Fiesta Videoke is every Filipino family’s favorite singing partner at home and here’s how it is making waves all over the country once again.
Every Filipino is a Singer
But where is this extraordinary talent in singing first nurtured? Chances are, the people’s love for singing was developed through endless sessions with a videoke machine at home.
Now that health restrictions have been lifted thanks to the vaccine, traveling back to our provinces has become easier. And the best time to come home to the loving embrace of our friends and family is during a fiesta or festival time.
A homecoming during the festival not only enables you to reconnect with loved ones–it also allows you to honor your locality’s patron saint or promote its best-known product. In any way, your arrival is met with lots of Filipino food and a series of merrymaking activities, with the chief one, of course, being singing!

MassKara Festival in Bacolod
This October, Bacolodnons truly enjoyed the Balik Yuhum sentiment with the revitalized and much bigger 43rd MassKara Festival. After being on hiatus for two years during the pandemic, the festival came back with a bigger and wider scope under the leadership of Bacolod Mayor Albee Benitez.
The 43rd MassKara Festival ran for 23 days, opening on September 30 and closing on October 23. Wearing their MassKara shirts, face masks, and some head ornaments, people flocked to the seven major venues for the different events.
Highlights included the MassKarade Ball, Miss Bacolod Masskara Pageant the Electric MassKara Floats, and the Streetdancing Competitions. Even President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and sons Sandro and Vinny were in Bacolod for the last three days of the festival.
Aside from the main events out in public, many people also gathered in the safety of their homes. Of course, there’s food, drinks, singing, and dancing. These little gatherings are strengthening the family bond and friendship ties. Thankfully, WOW! Fiesta Videoke is ever present and easy to set up for some birit fun!
