The Verdant Villas: Bantug Lake Ranch Overnight Accommodations

Bantug Lake Ranch has been a favorite resort of locals for many years. Our family would come here from time to time to enjoy the scenery, go swimming and of course, horseback riding. Many have clamored for them to have a hotel to make it a complete Bacolod resort. And now, they have built The Verdant Villas for Bantug Lake Ranch overnight accommodations.

Bantug Lake Ranch

The Bantug Lake Ranch is located in Brgy. Alangilan, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. It is a vast property with a lake, orchards, a swimming pool, a restaurant, picnic grounds, and a ranch.

Many people would come here especially during the weekends because it is a quick respite from city life. While it is near the metro, going there transports you to a place of endless greens and relaxing vistas. However, guests would have to go home around 6pm because the resort would be closed.

The Verdant Villas

But with the opening of The Verdant Villas, guests now have a choice to spend the night in one of their luxurious villas. The Bantug Lake Ranch overnight accommodations boasts of four individual villas considerably spaced apart for privacy.

Two of the villas can accommodate up to six persons while the smaller ones can house up to four guests. But there is no shortage of space around here. Each villa is spacious enough so that guests can move around comfortably inside. Moreover, the villas each have their own back doors that lead to a spacious backyard.

Gated and Secured Villas

The villas are located at the far end of the right side of the property, after the lanzones orchard. It is quite a distance away from the lake and picnic grounds, so this area is quite secluded from the public. The area is also gated to keep guests safe. Furthermore, it has its own parking lot so you can park your cars safely near your room.

Luxurious Amenities

Bantug Lake Ranch overnight accommodations are rather luxurious. It’s like a lovely cottage home.

Foremost would be the mattress. These are not regular six-inch foam mattresses that are commonly used in some other Bacolod resorts. These are good quality mattresses and matching fiber-filled pillows that allow for a comfortable sleep.

Then of course, there’s hot and cold showers as well as nice towels that are not very heavy and are very soft. They have certainly elevated the quality of accommodations usually provided by local resorts.

Disconnect to Connect

We brought along our Globe at Home so we could have good internet connection. And we had. I needed a stable connection to check on work because Bantug Lake Ranch is quite far from the city and away from the signals that we are used to, such as cable, internet, and local TV.

In order to cater to what guests need to the best of their ability, the management has provided a TV Plus box. But of course, the shows are limited to the channels of one network. There is no landline in the room but you can communicate to the office using the intercom. At the very least, we have cell signal but no 4G for Smart.

Consider your stay here as a retreat. You can take this time to enjoy nature and bond with your loved ones. Disconnect to connect. Thankfully, as a homeschooling family, we can just take a break any time and go somewhere even when it’s in the middle of the school year.

Golf Cart Service

The Verdant Villas is quite a distance from the ranch, the restaurant, and the swimming pool. While it would be nice to walk on the dirt road going to these stops for exercise, you will get tired eventually. In order to make things accessible and convenient, they are providing a golf cart service to transport you to any point in the property.

Going back, you can just ask the staff at the restaurant for the driver to pick you up. The cart is usually parked by the villas.

Warm Service

The front office and the staff assigned at the villas are very helpful and accommodating. Just ask them and they will surely come in your aid. If you stay here and use the amenities like the riding, boating, among other things, do consider giving tips to the staff.

Bantug Lake Ranch employs people in the community. That would give the locals some extra income that they can bring home to their families.

Below are the rates for the Bantug Lake Ranch overnight accommodations:

Family Room (good for 4 to 6 pax)

• Weekdays (Mondays to Thursdays) – PhP 4,200 (Approx. US$84)
• Weekends and Holidays  – PhP 4,500 (Approx. US$90)

Note: Includes free breakfast and use of amenities for 4. They issue tickets for the amenities. Swimming is not unlimited, so if you have used up the swimming tickets on the first day, you will have to purchase for the next day.

Deluxe Room (good for 2 to 4 pax)

• Weekdays (Mondays to Thursdays) – PhP 3,800 (Approx. US$76)
• Weekends and Holidays  – PhP 4,200 (Approx. US$84)

Note: Includes free breakfast and use of amenities for 2. Again, they issue tickets for the amenities but swimming is not unlimited.

Resort Facilities

Make good use of your Bantug Lake Ranch overnight accommodations by taking advantage of all the amenities. The boating, horseback riding, and swimming comes free with your hotel stay. The family room comes with four free tickets while the deluxe room has two. These tickets are consumable within two days.

Meanwhile, just know that additional tickets are sold at the office, in case you run out.

Boating at the Lake

Take a boat ride around the large man-made lake in the middle of the property. It is calming and serene and you get to see some swans and ducks swimming around. It’s best to do it in the afternoon.

Animal Feeding and Encounters

There are many animals around the farm and you can feed them for a fee. You can buy the feeds at the office.

Stalking the Peacock

Our little Shane spent her two days stalking the peacock that was just roaming around the property. She had to exercise all self-restraint because we told her that she could not chase the peacock. So instead, she gingerly followed him. That must have drove the poor bird crazy!

Fishing

You may want to go fishing at the lake where they grow tilapia and hito. You pay for your catch per kilo.

Horseback Riding

If you are a regular reader of this mommy blog, you will realize that the kids love riding horses. The stay at the villas accord you tickets on individual horseback rides. These tickets are transferable. You may also use them for a calesa (carriage) ride. One ticket per person allows you two rounds.

Swimming

Enjoy swimming at their pool. There is a big pool as well as a smaller pool for kids. You may also opt to just rest under the shade by the pool.

The Ranch Restaurant

Don’t worry if nobody wants to cook and you didn’t bring pre-cooked food. Delicious Pinoy dishes are prepared at the Ranch Restaurant. If there are hotel guests, the restaurant opens even at night. It would be best to make prior orders so that the kitchen staff can already prepare your food.

They try to make the restaurant operations sustainable by using most of the ingredients grown within the farm.

Take a Walk

Bantug Lake Ranch is an extensive property. Take a long walk in the cool of the night and hear the crickets chirp. If you’re lucky, you might chance on some fireflies. This is something that we city folks do not have, so it is a luxury to just take a walk like this at night, hand in hand with the one you love.
